Botox Treatment

Botox and Facial Aesthetics

Botox treatment is one of the most commonly used treatments by facial aesthetic specialists. It is used to combat the signs of facial ageing, in particular to eliminate small wrinkles and imperfections that appear due to the activity of the muscles used in facial expression. Normally, the same results cannot be achieved using more comprehensive procedures such as facial lifting. The success of this cosmetic treatment depends on, firstly, the correct dose of Botox and, secondly, its proper application in the area to be treated.

Botox is a very attractive facial treatment for patients owning to its many advantages:

  • It eliminates smaller wrinkles and imperfections.
  • Gives natural-looking results.
  • It is done on an outpatient basis.
  • There is no risk for the patient and the postoperative phase is almost non-existent.
  • The rejuvenating effect is immediate after application.
  • Botox is reabsorbed after a time, so if the aesthetic results are not exactly as desired, they can be corrected with the next application.
  • The treatment is very affordable.

Botox temporarily relax facial muscles that form wrinkles like crow's feet, glabella (the 'furrows' between the eyebrows) and frontalis (forehead lines) at the moment, but does not affect other facial muscles that are used for facial expressions .

A few months after injecting Botox, the body produces new acetylcholine receptors, the nerves can drive their impulses again and the muscle starts moving again, gradually reappearing the lines of expression. That is why, when starting treatment, it should be done with full awareness that there will be a maintenance every three to six months.
