You might have heard about or even used the famous “night guard”<\/strong>. This splint is one of the most common treatments for temporomandibular dysfunction syndrome<\/a>.<\/strong> It is usually placed in the teeth of the upper arch and it aims to give freedom of movement to the jaw, preventing us from grinding our teeth during sleep. However, not every splint is apt to be used for this purpose<\/strong>, it can even be counterproductive and worsen basic articular, muscular or dental problems.<\/p>\n
