Canthoplasty or canthopexy is a very simple cosmetic technique, involving minimally invasive surgery to lift the external commissure of the eyelids,  eliminating the expression of sadness of the look in an ambulatory intervention that lasts approximately one hour.

This treatment is performed when the lower eyelid tends down, a process related to the passage of time and age that causes the lower eyelid to gradually lose tension.

Why having a canthoplasty?

Canthoplasty has a direct effect on the patient’s look and facial aesthetics:

  • It rejuvenates the look.
  • The eyes become softer and more almond-shaped.
  • It gives a “mini facelift effect” around the skin of the eyelids.
  • It eliminates the sad and tired appearance and the puffness of the eyes.

Is canthopasty for me?

Canthoplasty candidates are those who have:

  • Very round eyes: look for more almond-shaped eyes
  • Bags under the eyes: look to combat the tired and aged look
  • Fallen eyelids: want to get rid of the look of sadness in their eyes

Canthoplasty and blepharoplasty can be done through the same incisions, so it is advisable to consider both procedures in the same surgery for a total rejuvenation of the look.
