The CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) that we use in the Maxillofacial Institute is characterized by the conical shape of its X-ray emission source, this is important because with a single rotation you get the necessary information of the desired area, minimizing the time that the patient has to be in the scanner.
The main advantages of this type of scanner are:
Low radiation: The radiation dose is very low, since 75 CBCT sessions are equivalent to a single conventional CT scan.
Immediate diagnosis: The execution time is very short, approximately two minutes. Thanks to this, the specialists of the Maxillofacial Institute can make an accurate diagnosis in the first visit.
Saving time: Obtaining the results instantly allows you to schedule the surgery on the same day of the visit, without the need for a new visit.
Open scanner: The CBCT is an open format scanner, and therefore provides greater patient comfort, avoiding situations of claustrophobia.
At the Maxillofacial Institute, we are always looking for new technologies that facilitate the treatment of both our medical team and our patients.
