Alba

Class II

Alba had an open bite and both jaws set too far back (biretrusion). She experienced difficulty eating, noticed clicking sounds in her jaw, and was aware that this type of condition could potentially lead to sleep-related breathing problems in the future.

She underwent bimaxillary orthognathic surgery performed by Prof. Federico Hernández-Alfaro at the Maxillofacial Institute. This procedure repositions both the upper and lower jaws to correct the bite and facial profile, and was combined with a mentoplasty (chin surgery) to provide better projection and balance to the chin.

Just six days after the operation, Alba was already able to eat a wide variety of foods and felt better than she had anticipated. Four months later, she describes her recovery as faster and smoother than she had imagined, noting a very positive physical transformation.
