When professionals themselves recognize the excellence of a colleague, that merit is invaluable. This is demonstrated by the latest ranking of the Healthcare Reputation Monitor (MRS), prepared by Merco, which includes the five most highly regarded oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Spain. Among them, and in a prominent position, is our Director, Professor Federico Hernández Alfaro.
This recognition is especially significant because it does not come from the general public, but from those with in-depth knowledge of the technical, scientific, and human challenges of oral and maxillofacial surgery: other physicians. Specifically, the list is compiled with the participation of more than 6,000 healthcare professionals, as well as representatives from the pharmaceutical sector.

Professor Hernández Alfaro not only leads the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Teknon Medical Center – Quirónsalud, but is also the medical director of the Maxillofacial Institute. In addition to his clinical practice, his teaching vocation has led him to become a professor and head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the International University of Catalonia (UIC), where he trains new generations of surgeons with the same rigor and passion he applies to every intervention.
Prof. Hernández Alfaro stands out not only for his surgical skill but also for his commitment to research and innovation. He serves on the editorial boards of leading scientific publications such as the European Journal of Oral Implantology and the Spanish Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which reaffirms his influence in the development of new techniques and approaches in his specialty.
From Barcelona, Dr. Hernández Alfaro is positioned as an international leader, bringing the city's name to the top of the European medical scene.
