The Director of the Maxillofacial Institute is among the finalists to receive the Award for the most reputable doctors in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The MERCO-OdS Reputational Leadership Awards are convened annually by MERCO, the benchmark Health Responsibility Monitor in Spain and Latin America, and the consulting firm specialized in the health sector, Observatorio de Salud (OdS), in order to recognize and promote the reputational leadership of organizations, hospitals and health specialists in our country.
Merco (Corporate Reputation Business Monitor) is the first audited monitor in the world, since the monitoring and verification of its preparation process and results is subject to an independent review by KPMG, according to the ISAE 3000 standard, which publishes its opinion for each edition.
The MERCO-ODS Awards have three distinct blocks: reputational leadership in the field of administrations, reputational leadership in the hospital field and reputational leadership in the field of professional specialties.
The category of the Reputational Leadership Award in the field of health professionals seeks to recognize the best specialists in 28 specific specialties. The methodology developed by MERCO-MRS integrates both the opinion of the main actors in health care, as well as the objective reality of it, thus guaranteeing the two factors that a good reputation requires: the reality of a behavior, and the recognition of it. The survey of medical specialists aims to find out the assessments of these professionals, strongly linked to the knowledge of a specific specialty, although also with significant experience in the complete dynamics of the provision of health services in our healthcare system.
For the preparation of the MRS, the opinion of medical specialists, divided into 24 different hospital specialties, has been taken into account. Thus, the awards for the best healthcare professionals include the following evaluations through direct questionnaires:
• More than 3,000 hospital specialist doctors (with a minimum of 100 per specialty) choose the professionals with the best reputation in their specialty.
• The evaluation of patient associations by specialty.
• Professionals from institutions and companies that are part of the healthcare sector.
• Health information journalists.
